DOC027: The Armstrong Lie

The Lance Armstrong story was one in which we all wanted to believe; the story of a man who, despite insurmountable odds, not only returned to cycling having won a battle against testicular cancer but went on to win the Tour de France on seven consecutive occasions.

Alex Gibney's The Armstrong Lie began life documenting the return of Lance Armstrong to Le Tour in 2009, but with mounting evidence and increasing numbers calling out Armstrong's past as a doping cheat, became a means of uncovering and understanding the lengths to which Armstrong went in order to maintain his position at the top of world cycling.
